2017 BPPR Newsletter

It’s been a cracker of a year for  Blue Planet Public Relations – record-breaking events, far-reaching PR and social media campaigns, and the establishment of a new division dedicated to  WeChat and Chinese social media services.

We even picked up a major international gong along the way – a PR News Platinum Award (Education Category) for our work with  Raffles College of Design and Commerce.

Here are our 2017 highlights…drop us a line if we can help with your PR campaign planning for 2018!

Geeks, gamers and gowns!

Raffles College at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia was a hit, with record breaking attendance. We hosted Vogue, Elle Magazine, Marie-Claire, News.com.au, Disney Channel, Pedestrian, and so many more. It was a show to remember.

It was our sixth year managing Oz Comic-Con’s PR nationally, with international stars such as Jason Momoa, Alyson Hannigan, Melissa Joan Hart and Sherilyn Fenn heading down under for the premiere pop-culture event. In Sydney, it was the first show at the new ICC Darling Harbour and the show was a massive success – with huge numbers of fans flocking to the new venue.

Canberra Writers Festival kicked off for its second year in August, with 150 national and international writers. We had the pleasure of touring top writers including Kathy Lette, Maggie Alderson, Paul Kelly and so many more, which led to sell out panels and workshops and over 100 events.

Proactiv Australia headed to digital festival Amplify, and gamers galore flocked to  PAX Australia in October. It all happened in 2017!

Red Cross Australia + Arts Health Institute

BPPR publicised Australian Red Cross World First Aid Day in September, promoting the importance of first aid with the help of Dr Andrew Rochford. We partnered with bloggers and media to push the message out across Australia- generating maximum coverage across TV, print and online.

We commenced work with Arts Health Institute, leveraging and maximizing the relationship with Beautiful: the Carole King Musical, and exceeded the fundraising target of $32k thanks to coverage on Today, The Canberra Times and The Sydney Morning Herald, for Eileen Kramer, the 103 -year-old modern dancer who is still performing.
