The Strategy (& the curve ball!)
The launch strategy for You’ve Got This! The Life-Changing Power of Trusting Yourself was upended with the arrival of COVID-19, and Australia going into lockdown. What Blue Planet ended up delivering was anything but a stock-standard publicity campaign.
Whilst Margie was completing the Australian leg of her publicity tour, she had just a few things to worry about, to say the least – her husband was hospitalised with COVID-19, her youngest child was at home in Singapore, her three other children were in the US, and her ageing parents were in Australia.
It dawned on the Blue Planet team that Margie was putting her own self-help book to the test. By living it herself, Margie was proving the power of its message – You’ve Got This! Blue Planet quickly pivoted the campaign’s messaging, maximising the personal and global situations to achieve exceptional results.
The Result
Publicity results which knocked the ball out of the park – vastly exceeding Margie’s expectations for what was achievable within the local market. Importantly, the Australian launch of You’ve Got This! helped set the scene for successful marketing and distribution of the title in the US.
